Apple and Raisin Christmas Chutney
Ingredients
10 Braeburn apples, peeled, cored and sliced an inch thick
2 white onions, diced
50g raisins
80g light brown sugar
80g dark brown sugar
1 jalapeno, de-seeded and sliced
2 tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp salt
1 clove garlic
150ml white wine vinegar
½ tsp allspice
1 cinnamon stick
Method
1. Except the apples, place all ingredients in a thick based pan.
2. Place on a medium heat.
3. Once reduced and thick, add apples and continue to cook for 20 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat, leave to cool and transfer to sterilised, clean, dry jars and seal.
